Art, Architectural History and Archaeology Resources: Introduction

This is a general guide to resources in these subjects.

Introduction

What is art research?  It may involve searching for information about a particular artist, architect or designer (biographical), or about his/her works or a specific work of art or a building. One may know very little about a work, may or may not have an image of it, and may or may not know the artist/architect who created/built it.
