Ancillary UN Organizations

Dozens of ancillary organizations conduct a large part of the work of the United Nations. 

Many of these organizations are coordinated by Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB).  This website helpfully provides a list of these organizations, which include,

Programmes and Funds, created by the UN, including:

Specialized Agencies, legally independent from the UN, created by treaties, and working with the UN through negotiated agreement, including:

Regional Commissions, including:

Distinct from the Programmes and Funds, Specialized Agencies, and Regional Commissions are Related Organizations. These organizations are legally independent from the UN, created by treaties of the member states, and have greater autonomy than the Specialized Agencies.  However they typically work with, or furnish regular reports to various UN bodies.  Such Related Organizations include:
