Guide for help using the library during the writing seminar, with some specialized resources mentioned.

E-journals

One can see a list of ALL electronic journals at Princeton here or by doing a title search in the library catalog. Alternatively, one can browse journals more visually and by subject using Princeton's instance of BrowZine. BrowZine allows one to save favorite titles to a Bookshelf, receive alerts when a new issues is published, and retain selected articles.

Fashion journal articles

There are many other databases worth searching to look for scholarly journal articles on fashion: e.g. Design and Applied Arts Index; America: History & Life (for U.S. History); MLA International Bibliography (for literature); American Periodicals and Reader's Guide for magazines in general. One can search our Databases by subject/Princeton discipline-department, or search for fashion in the keyword search. The Bloomsbury resource is the most robust and multifaceted resource we have access to on fashion/costume/textiles in general, and we have access to many fashion magazine archives like Vogue, Women's Wear Daily, Harper's Bazaar and a Women's Magazine Archive.

One of the best places to research popular culture in the U.S. has a list of databases that deal with popular culture. Search Princeton's database list to see if we have access to one or more.

Search Articles+

Before diving into a specialized subject database, you might want to try a broad interdisciplinary database, like Articles+. Limit a broad search to something more specific by choosing among the facets listed on the left-hand side. The SUBJECT TERMS section allows you to select specific subjects you wish to include and exclude in a search.
