Library Zine Cart

The Library Zine Cart is a mobile zine-making station available to Princeton University's students, faculty, and staff.

What is a zine?

A zine (pronounced ‘zeen’) is a type of publication characterized by inexpensive production methods, small print runs, and independent, often hyper-local distribution. Short for fan magazine or "fanzine," the zine’s do-it-yourself (DIY) ethos has been embraced by countless individuals and communities seeking a means of expression and connection through printed matter of their own making.

What is the Library Zine Cart?

The Library Zine Cart was generously funded by a Humanities Council Flash Grant, a mini-grant that supports first-time projects of Princeton University faculty and researchers.

Modeled after the zine cart at Carnegie Mellon, the Princeton University Library (PUL) Zine Cart is a self-publishing station on wheels. Instructors and students will find all the materials and equipment needed to create, replicate, and bind handmade pamphlets.

This one-stop utility cart is outfitted with a variety of zine-making supplies that can be made available to current Princeton University students, faculty, and staff.

Please note: When producing content using the Library Zine Cart, users must abide by University-wide, state, and federal regulations and laws, including Rights, Rules, Responsibilities section of Princeton University's conduct regulations and the University's reporting policy on Discrimination and/or Harassment
