Searching: Perform a basic search by keyword, title, or author. Select the field to search in by clicking the Options drop down menu next to the search bar. A keyword search will search in the full text of an e-book. Look for the Search Within button on the information page of each book to perform a full text search within a particular title.
Data Search allows you to search by numeric data and properties from Graphs, Equations and Tables in e-books quickly and easily. You can manipulate data values and export them into other applications, such as Excel, while maintaining a reference source.
You can browse by subject or title and limit to either new titles or titles with interactive tools. To view only the e-books in Princeton's subscription, select My Subscription from the upper right hand corner.
Reading: Knovel e-books are sectioned out into chapters. Most chapters are in PDF format and will open in your browser. In cases where the chapter is in a simple text format, Knovel will open it's own reader in the browser which offers simple e-book navigation tools. To read a section navigate to the chapter level by searching or browsing and click on the Text link to the right of the section you are interested in. If you do not see a Text link, expand the book or section by clicking on the plus to the left of the section.

Additional Functionality: In addition to the extra functionality found in the data search, Knovel also offers interactive graphs and tables.
Interactive tables "allow you to rearrange rows/columns, hide selected rows/ columns to better feature the relevant data, and even export it to a spreadsheet." Tables can be exported and include a citation source.
Interactive graphs "allow you to determine precise data coordinates without having to rely on error-prone extrapolation techniques. Relevant data can then be exported to support your conclusions and to offer a source citation for subsequent peer review."
To use the interactive features in Knovel, look for the interactive table icon 
and the interactive graph icon 
next to a title or section.
