A database of dissertations and theses from institutions in 141 countries. PQDT indexes millions of dissertations dating back to 1861. The majority are available for full-text viewing and downloading. Note that the coverage of dissertations submitted to institutions in Russia/ the Soviet Union is scant. These should be searched using the Russian State Library's Electronic Library of Dissertations or the Летопись авторефератов диссертаций in the Russian National Bibliography

Dissertations for degrees granted by institutions in the Russian Federation are indexed in this Russian State Library database. At least for the time being, remote users are able to access only basic bibliographic information for these dissertations, and not the full-text or abstracts (авторефераты). Access to the full-text of dissertations can usually be arranged on an individual basis for Princeton users.
