Peer Academic Adviser: Teaching About the Library

This guide is to help Princeton University PAAs introduce the Library to their Zee groups.

Nuts & Bolts

  • Prox is their library card and turnstile access card for Firestone

  • They can bring guests to any library, sign in required for Firestone at the Access Desk

  • They can request to see anything they like in Special Collections

  • They can print in the library

  • Print course reserves: search the catalog, get the call number, bring it to the front desk/circ desk of library where the book is located

  • Other course reserves are in Canvas

  • They can get in touch with us through our email or chat service

  • They can book study rooms

  • We lend things other than books like chargers and other kinds of tech

  • Don't pay at a paywall - we'll get it for them!

They should be on the lookout for...

  • Personal Librarian emails

  • Writing Seminar librarian pairings

  • Open workshops for learning new skills (from data analysis to crafternoons)

  • Special Collections showcases in the Firestone Lobby
