New Graduate Students' Checklist

Welcome to Princeton! The checklist below will help you get started with library resources. 

  1. Contact your Subject Specialist to explore discipline-specific resources and request a library tour.

  2. Explore our Special Collections.

  3. Use the Ask Us service to reach library staff by chat or email.

  4. Review options for remote access.

  5. Browse library holdings via our catalog including recent acquisitions, ebooks and digital content. Log in to your library account to renew books. Many collections are accessible online.

  6. Log in to your Article Express account to request email delivery of journal articles and book excerpts.

  7. Install Zotero or another citation manager to organize research, format citations and create bibliographies.

  8. Install Anywhere Access on your favorite browsers to find articles in full-text.

  9. Install BrowZine on your phone to get to recent journal articles.

  10. Create or connect your ORCiD ID using your Princeton email address to maintain authorship of your research.

  11. Create or connect your Overleaf account for collaborative academic writing in LaTeX. Especially useful for equation rich documentation.
