When searching for information it is important to consider:

  • Keywords- keywords to define a topic and their possible synonyms
  • Authority and validity of the information-  who is writing, why are they writing, and what are their credentials
  • Logarithms and searching- what role this might play in the results
  • How to do targeted searching- how to locate what you want from the right resource

Use these tips to help guide your initial research process.  As you become familiar with these strategies you will discover that your will naturally incorporate these tips into future strategies.  Pay particular attention to the tips on "Authority" as trying to find expert sources in your field of research is the key to writing a good academic paper.
