Oceanography Resources: Libraries & Collections

A guide to resources in ocean sciences.

UC San Diego Oceanography Library

"The University of California-San Diego (UCSD) digitized about 100,000 volumes from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography Library, the world's largest oceanography library. The volumes are being made publicly accessible through Google Books, as part of a partnership between Google, the University of California, and the UCSD Libraries.

The materials digitized by Google include books and journals, as well as scientific expedition reports. The Scripps Library's collections cover subjects ranging from oceanography, marine biology, and marine geology to climate science and geophysics, along with resources in ecology, zoology, fisheries, and seismology."

UCSD's copies are stored with Hathi Trust, but all are accessible via Google Books.
