Created in 1987, the CMBV has as its mission the rediscovery, restoration, edition, and broadest possible distribution of the French musical heritage of the17th and 18th centuries.
Promotes "the study and performance of music of the eighteenth century." Provides "a forum where scholars and performers can further their knowledge of music, history and interrelated arts of the period and serves as a resource to facilitate and encourage collaboration."
