If you need help with Zotero, see this guide .

Getting records into EndNote from the "Classic" Main Catalog

There are 2 methods for getting citations into Endnote from Princeton's "classic" catalog:

Method #1) Search Catalog directly within Endnote:

In the left hand panel, choose Online Search, then select Princeton University from the list of catalogs. After searching, your records will automatically land in your Endnote library. You'll probably want to select particular records from the larger list and move them into a "group."

Method #2) Export from "Classic" Catalog, then import into Endnote:

  1. Download the Voyager filter in the box to the right. You will need to unzip the file and then place in C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\My Documents\EndNote\Filters (you may need to create the Filters folder). On a Mac, place in "user name"\Documents\EndNote\Filters.
  2. Perform your search and select the records you want to keep.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, choose Full Record from the Select Download Format drop-down menu and then click Format for Print/Save.
  4. Once your search results are redisplayed, go to the your browser's menu bar and choose File - Save As. Name the file and choose a folder location.Save the file as a text file (.txt)
  5. Open the EndNote library into which you want to import your references, and choose Import from the File menu at the top of the screen.
  6. Click on Choose File and select the file you saved above.
  7. Click the Import Option, select Other Filters and choose VoyagerAU from the alphabetized list.
  8. Select Unicode (UTF-8) from the Text Translation box.
  9. Click Import. Those references are now in your selected library.
