Access to Princeton Resources from abroad
While abroad, computer access restrictions and security measures may impact fast and efficient access to the internet. Internet connectivity in general may not be as reliable as it is at Princeton.
Option 1: VPN (Virtual Private Network) - Access using your own computer: http://helpdesk.princeton.edu/remote/VPN
Set up VPN on your laptop before you leave and test it to make sure it works. Most of the Library's online resources are available from any location, including foreign countries using OIT's VPN from your own computer. Note: Some internet providers block use of VPN connections. Also, some institutions have firewalls that may block the use of VPN.
Option 2: EZproxy service - if VPN doesn't work OR if you are not using your own computer:
See http://library.princeton.edu/help/remoteaccess.php for details.
Note: The EZproxy service does not work for all library resources.
